Dans les années 1930, Louison Boisson, surnommée la Garçonne, est une braconnière solitaire des bois de Sologne. Après dix ans passés dans le nord du Canada, à Schefferville où elle a fait fortune après qu'une mine de fer a été découverte dans les terres dont elle a hérité, elle revient sur les lieux de son enfance. Elle espère en effet se venger de celui qui, une nui, l'a violée et mise enceinte.
