Ziad, dix ans, découvre que son père trompe sa mère avec Muriel, la voisine du 5ème. Il décide d'agir et lui demande de renoncer à cette relation. Muriel qui a mis un terme à sa carrière d'actrice après avoir été agressée par un metteur en scène et qui est désormais scripte, promet à Ziad de l'emmener sur un tournage.Ziad, ses parents, Anne et Bertrand, Muriel, grandissent, chutent, traversent des tempêtes, s'éloignent pour mieux se retrouver. Comme les Indiens, ils se sont laissé surprendre ; comme eux, ils n'ont pas les bonnes armes.
